Inflation in South Korea near 24-year high in July

South Korea’s consumer price index rose by 6.3% year-on-year in July. Last month already saw the highest inflation in almost 24 years. Year-on-year, it had risen by 6.0% in June and reached 6.8%, the highest rate since November 1998. Annual core inflation (excluding volatile food and energy prices) rose by 3.9% in June.
