Huawei Supplies Technologies for the Largest Hybrid Power Plant in Eastern Europe

Huawei has been selected to supply technologies for the largest hybrid power plant in Central and Eastern Europe, which is being built in Poland. The power plant, located in Kletchev in Wielkopolska Province, will consist of solar and wind power plants with a combined capacity of 205 megawatts.

Huawei will provide 710 string inverters and 23 smart transformer stations for the project. The annual capacity from the solar power plants is expected to be around 222 gigawatt hours (GWh), while the wind power plants are expected to generate around 47 GWh. This will be enough to meet the energy needs of more than 100,000 households.

The Director of Strategy and Communications at Huawei Poland, expressed the company’s satisfaction in supporting Poland’s green transformation by contributing its smart solar solutions. He emphasized that the project is important to the Polish economy’s path towards full carbon reduction, providing environmentally friendly and clean energy to society.

Huawei has been developing smart solar solutions for many years, leveraging its strengths in digital technology and power electronics. The company has been integrating digital technologies with solar cells, energy storage, cloud, and AI technologies, offering PV+smart energy storage solutions. The solutions reduce the adjusted average cost of electricity (LCOE) of solar power plants over their lifetime, improve the efficiency of the power grid, and make solar energy the main source of energy.

The project is an important step towards Poland’s green transformation and Huawei’s continued participation in the development of the modern energy sector.
