China’s FDI Grows 6.3% in 2022, Reaches 1.23 Trillion Yuan

Beijing, China – The Ministry of Commerce of China announced today that foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country has grown 6.3% in 2022, reaching 1.23 trillion yuan, or about $189.13 billion. This marks a year-on-year increase in FDI for the country.

According to the ministry, FDI inflows from the manufacturing industry rose 46.1% to 323.7 billion yuan in 2022, while FDI in the high-tech industry also saw a significant increase of 28.3%.

FDI from major countries also saw significant growth in 2022. Investment from South Korea rose 64.2%, while Germany and the UK saw an increase of 52.9% and 40.7%, respectively. Investment from the European Union as a whole hit an impressive 92.2% in 2022.

These numbers indicate a strong confidence in China’s economy and its various industries, particularly in the manufacturing and high-tech sectors. The significant increase in FDI from major countries further solidifies China’s position as a leading destination for foreign investment.
