Malaysia’s consumer price index up 4% in November

Malaysia’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 4% year-on-year in November, in line with economists’ expectations of 3.9% growth.

The chief statistician said that a 7.3% increase in food prices remained the main driver of inflation this month.

In most Southeast Asian countries, inflation has been contained this year by government subsidies and price controls.
