Thailand’s consumer confidence index rises for 5th month in a row in October

The Center for Economic and Business Forecasting at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce reported that the consumer confidence index was 46.1 in October, up from 44.6 in September.

The index rose for the fifth consecutive month and was the highest in the past 10 months, while the index for confidence in the Thai economy as a whole was 40.0, the index for confidence in job opportunities was 43.6, and the index for confidence in the Thai economy was 43.6.

Among the positive factors affecting the index in September were the stimulus measures approved by the Cabinet to mitigate the effects of the Covid 19 situation, and the nationwide increase in the minimum wage.
