German economic sentiment rises slightly in October

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) announced that the German economic sentiment index rose to -59.2 in October from -61.9 in September.

The index remains below zero, indicating a lack of confidence in the economic outlook.

The sentiment index was affected by concerns about the energy crisis, which led to a jump in inflation and the cost of living.
