The U.S. Small Business Confidence Index was higher than expected in September

The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) reported that its small business confidence index rose to 92.1 in September, up for the second consecutive month and above analysts’ expectations of 91.8.

However, the confidence index was further pressured by concerns about inflation and labor shortages, while business leaders reduced their confidence in the economy over the next six months.
