German industrial production and retail sales down in August

According to the Federal Statistical Office, German industrial production contracted in August under pressure from protracted supply disruptions.

Industrial production decreased by 0.8% in August.

The office also revised the July figure to 0.0% from -0.3% previously.

Meanwhile, German retail sales fell by 1.3% month-on-month in August, slightly more than expected.
