Chinese foreign exchange reserves fell in September, but want to remain at a “reasonable size”

China’s international reserves fell to $3.029 trillion in September from $3.055 trillion at the end of August.

“China will maintain its current account surplus of a reasonable size,” said Wang Chunying, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Exchange Office.

The yuan lost 3.2% against the dollar in September.

China’s gold reserves fell to $104.72 billion at the end of September from $107.49 billion at the end of Aug.
