Asia

On Monday, Japan releases the business condition index of major Japanese manufacturers (Tankan) for the third quarter of 2022. Indonesia reports Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for September and inflation for September. Malaysia, the Philippines and India report Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for September.

On Tuesday, Australia releases building permits figures for August. South Korea reports the manufacturing purchasing managers’ index for September from S&P Global and the Reserve Bank of Australia meets on monetary policy and announces interest rate decisions.

On Wednesday, South Korea publishes the inflation rate for September. The Philippines publishes the inflation rate for September. Singapore publishes retail sales for August.

On Thursday, South Korea releases foreign exchange reserves for September, Australia imports, exports and trade balance for August, and the Philippines unemployment rate for August.

On Friday, South Korea publishes its current account for the month of August. Japan reports household spending in August and the leading economic index for August. China publishes foreign exchange reserves for September.

Europe

On Monday, the UK will publish the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for September. France, Germany and the EU will all publish their final manufacturing purchasing managers’ index for September.

On Tuesday, the EU reports the Producer Price Index (PPI) for August.

On Wednesday, Germany published imports, exports and the trade balance for August, as well as the final purchasing managers’ index (PMI) for the services sector for September. France, the EU and the UK reported the final purchasing managers’ index for the services sector for September.

On Thursday, Germany reports August factory orders, and the EU reports August retail sales.

On Friday, Germany will publish industrial production for August and retail sales for August. The UK publishes the Halifax house price index for September, and France the trade balance for August.

The U.S.

Monday will see the release of S&P Global’s final September manufacturing purchasing managers’ index, the U.S. Institute of Supply Management’s (ISM) September manufacturing index and August construction spending.

On Tuesday, opening and turnover rates for August (JOLTS) and factory orders for August will be released.

Wednesday’s release will include U.S. labor market numbers for September from ADP; August imports, exports and trade balance; the S&P Global Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) September; the services sector index from the U.S. Institute of Supply Management (ISM); and weekly oil inventories from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

On Thursday, the number of weekly initial jobless claims will be published.

On Friday, employment figures for September and wholesale inventories for August will be released.
