Unemployment Rate in Germany Rises in September after Ukrainian Refugees Enter Labor Market

According to the German Labor Agency, the unemployment rate in Germany increased in September. This is due to the fact that Ukrainian refugees continue to enter the German labor system.

According to the report, the number of unemployed in Germany rose on a seasonally adjusted basis by 14,000 to 2.51 million in September, below analysts’ forecasts.

Regardless of the number of Ukrainian nationals, the German unemployment rate could have been much better, the office said.

The head of the office said that the labor market remains stable overall. Even if inflation is rising and there are concerns about energy shortages.
