Bitcoin falls back into the $19,000 range

The bitcoin price fell 0.44% today (September 28) to $19,014.0.

Bitcoin’s move into negative territory this morning came after the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 125 points Tuesday (Sept. 27) after initially rising more than 300 points in volatile trading.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 125.82 points, or 0.43%, to close at 29,134.99.
  • The S&P 500 fell 7.75 points, or 0.21%, to close at 3,647.29.
  • The Nasdaq rose 26.58 points, or 0.25%, to close at 10,829.50 points.

The Dow fell more than 300 points yesterday as investors feared the Federal Reserve’s interest rate hike would plunge the U.S. economy into recession.

In addition, the market eased concerns about the Fed’s accelerated rate hikes. Chicago Fed Chairman Charles Evans expressed concern that the Fed might raise rates too quickly in the fight against inflation.
