Bitcoin fell more than 2% and hovered around $18,000

Today (September 22), the bitcoin price fell 2.70% to $18,434.80.

Bitcoin moved in negative territory this morning after the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 522 points on Wednesday (September 21) as investors worried about the latest round of rate hikes and future Fed policy. The Fed had raised the benchmark interest rate by 0.75% to 3.00%-3.25%.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 522.45 points, or 1.70%, to close at 30,183.78 points.
  • The S&P 500 was down 66.00 points, or 1.71%, to close at 3,789.93 points.
  • The Nasdaq fell 204.86 points, or 1.79%, to close at 11,220.19.

However, the Monetary Policy Committee has indicated that there could be another major rate hike.

The interest rate is expected to rise to 4.40% at the end of this year before rising to 4.60% in 2023, as forecast in June.
