German wholesale prices up slightly in August

As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), German wholesale prices rose slightly in August compared with July. This was due to higher prices for milk and fat products. Wholesale prices also rose slightly by 0.1% month-on-month.

According to the report, prices of dairy products, eggs, and edible oils and fats increased by 2.4% in August compared to the previous month, scrap and residues fell by 5.1%, while prices of minerals, metals, and semi-finished metal products decreased by 4.7%.

Year-on-year, German wholesale prices fell for the fourth month in a row in August, by 18.9%.
