Philippine unemployment rate was down to 5.2% in July
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that the unemployment rate in the Philippines fell to 5.2% in July, with about 2.6 million Filipinos unemployed.
The director of the PSA said online that the unemployment rate in July reached the lowest level this year. The number of unemployed was about 400,000 people lower than in June.
Level 1 (out of 5) hazard alerts remain in place in many parts of the Philippines, and several cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. The daily shortages and easing of measures have allowed the Philippines to resume business and create jobs.
