Inflation in the Philippines at 6.3% in August

The Statistics Office said Tuesday that the annual inflation rate in the Philippines fell to 6.3% in August. It was the first time in six months that inflation slowed, partly due to a drop in food prices.

The figures were in line with expectations, although the central bank was in a range of 5.9% to 6.7% for the month.
