Asia

On Monday, South Korea reports its foreign exchange reserves for August. Australia releases its final manufacturing and services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for August from S&P Global, as well as retail sales for July (final estimate). China’s August purchasing managers’ index (PMI) will be released by Caixin. India’s final manufacturing and services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for August will be published by S&P Global.

On Tuesday, Japan reports July household spending, and the Reserve Bank of Australia meets to discuss monetary policy and release interest rate decisions.

On Wednesday, South Korea reports current account for July, Australia reports gross domestic product (GDP) for Q2/22, and China reports imports, exports, trade balance for August, and foreign exchange reserves for August.

On Thursday, Japan publishes the current account for July and gross domestic product (GDP) for the second quarter of 22 (final estimate). Australia publishes imports, exports and the trade balance for July.

On Friday, the Philippines publishes its imports, exports and trade balance for July. China publishes its consumer price index (CPI) for August and producer price index (PPI) for August, and Indonesia publishes retail sales for July. Malaysia reports unemployment rate for July and industrial production for July.

Europe

On Monday, France and Germany report the final August Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for manufacturing and services from S&P Global. The EU releases the final August manufacturing/services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) from S&P Global, as well as retail sales for July. For the UK, auto sales figures for August and the purchasing managers’ index (PMI) for August will be published by S&P Global/CIPS.

On Tuesday, Germany reports July factory orders and August car sales.

On Wednesday, Germany reports July industrial production and the UK releases the August house price index from Halifax.

On Thursday, the European Central Bank (ECB) releases its interest rate decision.

The U.S.

On Tuesday, the final services sector Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for August from S&P Global and the non-manufacturing PMI for August from the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) will be released.

On Wednesday, imports, exports and the trade balance for July will be released, as well as the Fed’s Beige Book.

On Thursday, weekly initial jobless claims and weekly oil inventories will be released in the U.S. by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Wholesale inventories for July will be released on Friday.
