Russian gas giant Gazprom announced Friday it will suspend its natural gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 for maintenance work.
Gazprom said in a statement that the only working gas compressor for the Nord Stream 1 pipeline will be closed for three days and undergo routine maintenance by specialists from Siemens, a German company that makes gas compressors.
As soon as the maintenance work is completed and there are no technical disruptions, gas transport through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline will return to the current level of 33 million cubic meters per day.
