China’s daily coal production rises 16% to meet summer demand

China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that daily coal production in China rose 16% year-on-year in July. China has asked miners to ensure sufficient supply to meet peak demand in the summer.

According to the report, China produced 372.66 million tons of coal in July. This was equivalent to 12.02 million tons per day, more than the 10.13 million tons per day in July 2021 but less than the 12.64 million tons per day in June 2022

From January to July 2022, Chinese coal production increased by 12% year-on-year to 2.56 billion tons.
