Bitcoin’s uptick this morning came after the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 76 points higher on Friday. In the U.S., non-farm payrolls rose more than expected, which could be a factor in the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) raising interest rates.
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 76.65 points, or 0.23%, to close at 32,803.47.
- The S&P 500 fell 0.16% to close at 4,145.19 points.
- The Nasdaq fell 0.50% to close at 12,657.56 points.
The SEC has released a report on the global digital asset market (August 5, 2022) The SEC in Thailand released a report on August 5, 2022, on the global digital assets market, which currently has a market capitalization of around $0.97 trillion and a daily trading turnover of $76.63 billion.
The value of digital asset trading in Thailand fell 72.2% to ฿70 billion in July 2022 from ฿250 billion in January 2021 (data as of Aug. 5, 2022)
The number of trading accounts with active traders in the country stood at 251,000 accounts out of a total of 2,867,231 accounts in June 2022, the lowest in a year.
In 2022, the cumulative turnover by asset class is relatively divided. The highest trading values on exchanges in Thailand are Tether with a trading value of ฿ 110 billion, Bitcoin with ฿ 90.6 billion, and Ethereum with ฿ 61.8 billion.
