Indonesia’s inflation rate reaches highest level in 7 years in July

According to official data, inflation in Indonesia accelerated to 4.94% in July, above the central bank’s target range. It has been pressured by rising food prices, household fuel and transport fares.

Inflation in July was the highest since October 2015.

Inflation was previously estimated at 4.82% and 4.35% in June, while the Bank of Indonesia’s target is 2% to 4%.
