Bitcoin fell more than 4% to hover at $20,000 – G20 to propose global crypto regulation

The bitcoin price fell 4.37% this morning (July 12) to $19,881.35.

Bitcoin moved into negative territory this morning after the Dow fell 164 points on Monday (July 11) on concerns about the big bank’s earnings release this week.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 164.31 points, or 0.52%, to close at 31,173.84.
  • The S&P 500 was down 44.95 points, or 1.15%, to close at 3,854.43.
  • The Nasdaq index fell 262.71 points, or 2.26%, to close at 11,372.60 points.

G20 regulator to propose first global crypto rules in October

The Monetary Stability Board will present a report on regulatory guidelines for digital assets to G20 finance ministers and central bank governors.

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is an international body that monitors and advises the global financial system. It was established by the G20 and plans to present a report on regulatory approaches for stablecoins and other digital assets in October 2022.

The G20 agency also plans to submit another public advisory report with recommendations to promote global consistency of other regulatory policies for digital assets.
