India’s manufacturing PMI is the lowest in almost a year in June

India’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) fell to 53.9 in June, the lowest level since September 2021, and below 54.6 in May.

The PMI index was hurt by a slowdown in new orders and employment, while business confidence fell to a 27-month low.

However, the PMI remained above 50, indicating an expansion in India’s manufacturing sector.
