These economic figures will be important this week

Asia

On Monday, China will publish industrial profits for the month of May, and in Japan the leading economic index for the month of April.

On Wednesday, South Korea will release its June Consumer Confidence Index and Japan will release its June Consumer Confidence Index.

On Thursday, South Korea publishes the business confidence index for June and retail sales for May. China’s manufacturing and services purchasing managers’ index (PMI) for June will be published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

On Friday, Japan releases the consumer price index excluding food and energy for June, the unemployment rate for May, and the manufacturing PMI index for June. South Korea reports June monthly export volume, June import volume, June trade balance, and June manufacturing PMI index from the Nikkei Institute, and China reports June manufacturing PMI index from the Caixin Institute.

The U.S.

On Monday, the U.S. will release new orders for durable goods for the month of May, pending home sales for the month of May and the manufacturing index for the month of June.

On Tuesday, May wholesale inventories, the April home price index, and the June consumer confidence index will be released by the Conference Board.

On Wednesday, the 1Q22 gross domestic product (GDP) report (final estimate) and weekly oil inventories from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) will be released.

On Thursday, weekly initial jobless claims and May personal income and spending will be released. This will be followed by the price index for personal consumption expenditures (PCE).

On Friday, the U.S. manufacturing purchasing managers’ index for June, the ISM manufacturing employment index for June, and the new manufacturing orders index for June will be released.

Europe

On Tuesday, the GfK Institute’s consumer confidence index for July will be published in Germany, followed by the French consumer confidence index for June.

On Wednesday, the EU publishes the consumer confidence index for June.

On Thursday, Germany publishes retail sales for May and the unemployment rate for June. The EU publishes the unemployment rate for May.

On Friday, the French manufacturing PMI for June will be published. This will be followed by the German manufacturing PMI for June. The EU also reported the June manufacturing PMI and June consumer price index (CPI). To close the day, there is the UK manufacturing PMI for June.
