Russia’s Inflation Slows Slightly – But Continues to Rise Over 17%

The Russian Statistical Service (Rosstat) announced that the consumer price index (CPI) rose 17.10% year-on-year in May. This followed an increase of 17.8% in April, the highest level since January 2002.

The increase in the consumer price index slowed to 0.12% (MoM) from 1.56% in April, after rising 7.61% in March, the highest level since 1999.
