German Imports and Exports Rose more than Expected in February

According to the German Federal Statistical Office, German exports and imports rose more strongly than expected in February. Foreign trade was not affected by the Ukraine war in this period, but it was expected that both German imports and exports would be hit hard in March.

Seasonally adjusted, German exports rose by 6.4% in February, while imports increased by 4.5% in February.

Germany’s trade surplus increased to 11.15 billion euros ($12.70 billion) in February from 8.8 billion euros in March.
