BAAC Expects Thai Agricultural Product Prices to Rise in April After Government Eases Measures

BAAC Innovation Research and Development Center showed that in April 2022 the prices of most products will increase, which is also related to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Since the beginning of the conflict, oil prices have increased dramatically. At the same time, the government is beginning to relax measures to control the spread of COVID-19 in order to boost the economy during the Songkran festival.

The products trending higher in price are rice, raw sugar, cassava, corn, oil palm, grade 3 raw rubber, white shrimp, vannamei, pigs, and cattle, with the exception of sticky rice paddy, whose price is trending down.

In agricultural products, the price of sticky rice was 8,871-8,901 baht/ton, 1.06-1.39% lower than the previous month, as the production of second-generation sticky rice increased in the market during this period. As a result, the price decreased slightly.
