Canada’s Unemployment Rate Falling to 5.5% in February

Canada’s National Bureau of Statistics has announced that the unemployment rate fell to 5.5% in February, well below the level at the start of the coronavirus pandemic. In February 2020, the unemployment rate was 5.7% at that time.

Unemployment rates for males and females in all age groups were lower than during the COVID-19 outbreak for the first time.

Previously, Canada had the lowest unemployment rate at 5.4% in May 2019.
