The Swiss city of Lugano is planning to legalize Bitcoin and Tether.

Lugano has set itself the goal of becoming the bitcoin capital of Europe and has therefore teamed up with stable coin issuer Tether.

Some Swiss cities already allow tax payments in cryptocurrencies, but they have not yet found application in the nominal trading of goods. This is now to change in Lugano. The plan is that all businesses in the city accept cryptocurrencies and thereby integrate them into the normal life of the population.

In addition to Bitcoin and Tether, Lugano’s own currency of LVGA Points token is also to be accepted as a legal tender.
