Vietnam Among Top Ten Countries With Most Crypto Holdings in the World

Cryptocurrency payment company Triple A disclosed that about 6 million Vietnamese own digital assets, which is about 6% of the population. This was reported by the website vietnamnet.vn on Friday (February 11).

Triple A puts Vietnam in 9th place among countries with the highest percentage of cryptocurrency holders globally in 2021, with Ukraine taking the top spot. Thailand ranks 11th with 5.20% of the population owning cryptocurrencies.

Analytics firm Chainalysis has found that the number of retail investors using cryptocurrencies increased by 881% in 2021, with Vietnam, India, Pakistan and Ukraine topping the list of countries using the most cryptocurrencies.

Techinasia’s website states that digital assets are not even certified and protected by Vietnamese law, but are nevertheless becoming an investment trend. Especially for middle-aged people and Generation Z, people born between 1997 and 2012.

According to a July 2021 report by CoinTelegraph, Vietnam’s bitcoin investment rate ranks 13th in the world in 2020.
