Investors are buying gold as a safe haven after data shows weakness in the U.S. economy.

While the U.S. manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) fell to 58.4 in October, its lowest level in 10 months. The decline in the PMI index was caused by a shortage of raw materials for production.
